Mtv.Com: When MTV News caught up with “High School Musical” alum Ashley Tisdale at the party, she revealed just who she likes to get phone calls from. “Probably, when I’m overseas, [a call] from my family members,” the singer said. And she was quick to point out just who she doesn’t like calling her: “My ex-boyfriend,” she said. Tisdale recently broke up with V Factory member Jared Murillo. Tisdale, who is best friends with the likes of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, also shared that the biggest names in her phone aren’t her former “HSM” co-stars, but a former boy-bander. “I do have Nick Lachey,” she said, laughing. “I have a lot of friends. I’m not going to name them all.” Unfortunately for Tisdale, Timberlake isn’t yet in her contact list. “I would love to work with him,” she said. “I would like his number. I know, seriously, [if I had it] we could be best friends.” Ashley also shared what she would and wouldn’t do for $50,000. Climb the Empire State Building? “I don’t know about that one,” she said. “I’m scared of heights.” Open-mouth kiss a dog? “Maybe.” Pose nude? “No.”

MTV.Com: Ashley Tisdale may have been the guilty pleasure of tween girls everywhere as Sharpay in the “High School Musical” movies, but now the singer/actress is sharing hers with the world on her aptly titled album, Guilty Pleasure, out June 16. For the album, Tisdale worked with Toby Gadd, “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi and Billy Steinberg and embraced her rocker-chick roots, emulating such artists as Pat Benatar and Pink. “It’s different — it’s more guitar-driven … it’s pop-rock,” she said of the LP. “The first album, for me, was learning myself as an artist — and this album, I knew exactly what I wanted coming into and it’s reflecting on where I am in my life right now.” Unlike her first album, Headstrong, Tisdale hopes to show off her “edgier” side, leaving behind the pop and R&B songs. “They’re more mature [songs], but it’s still really fun and you can rock out to it,” she said. “There are still only two ballads on it, because I want it to be something you can pop in your car or when you’re getting ready to go out you can listen to.” The album’s first single is “I’m Alright, I’m OK,” which the singer describes as “a strong survival song.” And for the video, Tisdale got pretty destructive, showing “90210” actor Adam Gregory just what happens when you cross the “They Came From Upstairs” actress. “He drives away from his house, I enter his house, and I invite a lot of people over — we destroy it,” she explained. “There’s also male models there that I’m taking pictures with, I’m posing with, leaving them all around the house — so then he comes home with the girl that he is cheating on me with and sees his place is destroyed! Great revenge!”
People.Com: Ashley Tisdale recently split from her boyfriend, Jared Murillo of the boy band V Factory, but the pair are as friendly as ever. “They remain good friends,” Murillo’s dad Alex tells PEOPLE exclusively, of his son, 20, and Tisdale, 23. “They are in the same circle, they have the same friends. And you know what? You never know how life turns out. They might hook up again, you just never know.” Adds Murillo’s dad, “I think it was just the right time to do what they did.” The couple’s split comes at a time when Murillo’s band (he also previously co-starred in High School Musical with Tisdale) is becoming increasingly busy: They’re gearing up to shoot the video for V Factory’s new single, “Lovestruck.” Also on tap is a tour and a Warner Brothers Records-released album, both slated for this summer. “Jared is very, very happy, and is very pleased with what’s going on with his work,” the elder Murillo tells PEOPLE. “I think for him it’s a good time now to move forward. His background has always been performing on the road, so he’s very comfortable. It’s like his home. It is home.” And not surprisingly, Murillo’s dad is one of V Factory’s biggest fans. “They’ve got some dynamite songs,” he says of the five-member group, which has a pop/R&B/urban sound. “They’re going to be the big surprise of the summer.”
I can exclusively reveal that Ashley Tisdale will be on Good Morning America on June 16th (which is also the official U.S. release date for her sophomore album Guilty Pleasure) on ABC. On June 17th, Ashley Tisdale will also make an appearance on ABC’s The View. It is unknown whether or not she will be performing. These are just a couple of dates that are scheduled and hopefully there are more to come! Ashley would also like to do some touring in August.
